Wedding and Honeymoon Pictures

After waiting for three and a half months I finally got our wedding photos from our photographer. Apart from the long wait I am so disappointed in the quality of the photos which for the most part look like snapshots from a friend instead of professional photos. There are a handful of photos that are great, particularly the three I've posted but overall there is a lot of poor composition, visual clutter and bad lighting in the photos. The thing that makes me the saddest is that there aren't any formal photos of Frank and I on our wedding day that I love.

As someone who loves photography I've been pretty bummed about the wedding photos, but Frank being the awesome guy that he is helped me put things in perspective. We had an awesome wedding day that was relaxed and fun and I wouldn't trade one bit of that day to have better pictures. I had been waiting for my professional photos to include them in my posts about some of my handmade wedding details on the blog, like my flowers and favors, but as it turns out I shouldn't have bothered waiting and I will start posting those soon.

While we don't have the greatest wedding photos we did luck out in the honeymoon photo department. The resort we stayed at for the second half of our honeymoon, Iberostar Grand Hotel Bávaro, had a professional photographer and he would take people out for half an hour to take some pictures. Frank wasn't so keen on doing it but I talked him into it and I think in the end even he will admit it was a good idea. I love all of the the photos and have posted a few of my favorites below.

Now I just need to figure out which one of the honeymoon photos to frame for our house...

The photos are great - all of them and I am looking forward to seeing your photos of the day.

Oh Lisa, I would feel exactly the same about the wedding photos, it's hard to be a scrapbooker who is particular about photos when there are so many so-so photographers out there nowadays. I do love the honeymoon pictures and I'm looking forward to seeing the handmade details you worked so hard on.

Mary-Lou- Thank you!

Hilary- It is a bummer but I'm getting over it and collecting photos from our family that was there. It makes me love our honeymoon photos even more!

Hi there -- are you going to do a canvas of one of your honeymoon pics? They are great! Good thing! A friend of mine hired a friend to take her wedding photos and ended up with only 1 photo of her and her groom. : ( It was so very sad! How can that happen? Cherish the memories. You are such an excellent photographer that I can see how frustrating this must have been for you. Chin up! : )

I am so sad to hear about your wedding photos. I know you must be so disappointed. As for the honeymoon photos - when you originally posted the last picture above I told you that I thought that was one of the most beautiful pictures I'd ever seen. I know that neither of you are looking at the camera, but I like to think you are both looking out and dreaming about your future - a lovely future together that will be filled with lots of travel, good laughs, and everything else that your heart desires.

Although we have never met, I think you are one of the kindest and most lovely people I have ever encountered. I know that this is one of the reasons Frank fell in love with you. I truly wish you both the most wonderful things - enduring love, undying laughter, and moments of pure bliss. You deserve wonderful things, Lisa, and I am so happy that Frank is by your side. Trust me...print that last picture. :)

Sorry to hear about your photos, however I do love your husbands perspective on the whole thing. I think the photos you've posted are very sweet! I especially love the beach ones.

I can completely understand your disappointment if your photos didn't turn out like you'd hoped. I'm so sorry that happened. However, your honeymoon photos are gorgeous! I know they don't show you in your dress on your wedding day, but they do show all the love you have between the two of you. No matter what you're wearing, love is the most important accessory, and that shines in your photos. Congratulations again!

Veronique- I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. That is so sad! The most important thing is that we have good memories.

Rene- Thank you so much! You are so sweet and I really appreciate what you wrote. I just printed an enlargement of the last honeymoon picture and have a little craft project planned for it.

Orlando- Thank you! I really like all the beach photos, too!

Sandy- Thank you! I am so happy that I have the honeymoon photos!

Kathy- I agree, too ! I just had an enlargement printed.

Lisa,

Like another author, I too stumbled upon your site. I was looking at bath remodel posts and somehow meandered into posts of your newly painted home, Christmas photos, etc. Let me start by saying that I rarely if ever take the time to read people's blogs. Nothing against them, I just have difficulty fitting it into the chaos that has become my life. Here I sit on my iPad thirty five minutes into your blog and it feels like a mini mental vaca. You are a gifted writer, photographer and most obviously a crafting/DIY goddess! I mainly wanted to say what a beautiful couple you and your husband are and how absolutely GORGEOUS you are! You are the epitome of "girl next door" natural beauty. From your post I would venture to say that you are as beautiful inside as out. Congratulations on your marriage. May you and Frank be blessed with decades of joy!
