Growing up I was exposed to a lot of arts and crafts and now as an adult I enjoy the creative outlet that making things with my hands provides me.  I keep myself busy remodeling and decorating my late 1800s home, baking and cooking, and making presents for others.

At the same time that I was making my first creative forays I was also dreaming of traveling.  With a very tight budget while I was in school I was limited to road trips in the US but as soon as I finished grad school I was ready to see more of the world.  With a tiny budget I set off for France and Italy and immediately I was hooked on seeing more.  Since then I have had the opportunity to travel to over seventy countries as well as live in Japan.  I always have my bags packed and am ready for my next adventure.
