I enjoy waterfalls close up - BUT this walkway would never see my foot upon it - I got a flutter in my nerves just looking at this photo, which is a great shot. Or would I overcome the fright to view closer, better and get that spectacular photo - a question to ponder (lol).
Hope you and Frank are enjoying Super Bowl Sunday.
Mary-Lou- I can't even begin to describe how crazy the walkways around and over the falls were on both the Brazilian and Argentine side of the falls. It was amazing that they had been able to build them and that everyone was walking around them like it was no big deal we were walking over water rushing as fast as I have ever seen in my life. Also, if someone was so inclined it would not have been very hard to climb over and get swept away. There is no way for liability reasons that there would ever be something like this in the US but it was a super awesome experience to get to see the power of nature up so close like that.
I can hear the roar of the water when I look at your amazing photo! I'm not sure I could force myself to take that walk. When we climbed the mountains in Arizona and Utah this summer, there were skinny little walkways like that that hung over the edges of sheer cliffs to get around tricky spots on the trails. Those were hard enough to traverse, and they had no rushing water below them.
Sandy- It was a little surreal walking over the water like that. It was a really amazing experience, though, and totally worth it. Arizona and Utah are gorgeous for hiking. I bet you had a lovely time this past summer!
